Boca Raton Free Events for Fall 2026: Your Downtown Guide

October 15, 2026

Every city-run event on downtown Boca Raton's calendar between now and mid-December costs nothing to attend. The one price posted anywhere along the route is at the curb. Under the City of Boca Raton's user-fee schedule, effective October 1, 2026, a downtown city meter east of Federal Highway runs $4 an hour, and on special-event nights metered spaces can switch to a variable flat rate capped at $25.

So the cost of a free night out depends on where you leave the car, or whether you bring it at all. The city and Mizner Park have set up three ways around the meter this season: free garages, a free electric shuttle inside the downtown core, and free lots on parade night. Plan with those in mind and the whole season, from the Night Market to the parade, can actually stay free.

The Season at a Glance

Date Event Where Time Cost
Thu, Nov 5 Night Market Sanborn Square, 72 N. Federal Hwy 6–9 p.m. Free

Sat, Nov 21 Holiday Tree Lighting Mizner Park Amphitheater 6–10 p.m. Free
Wed, Dec 2 54th Holiday Street Parade Federal Highway, Downtown Boca 7:30–9 p.m. Free
Sat, Dec 5 Holiday POPS Concert Mizner Park Amphitheater Doors 6, show 7 p.m. $25–$60
Thu, Dec 10 Holiday Night Market Sanborn Square 6–9 p.m. Free
December, various Merry in Mizner Mizner Park Varies Free

The Night Market season started on October 1, and the city has set two more dates, November 5 and a holiday-themed market on December 10. The holiday lineup comes from the city's August announcement, and Holiday POPS is the only ticketed event on it.

Two clusters stand out. Every free event after the November 5 Night Market lands on the amphitheater at 590 Plaza Real or on Federal Highway a few blocks south of it. And two of them, Red, White & Boca and the parade, fall on Wednesday nights, when getting downtown means dealing with weeknight traffic.

Where the Free Parking Is

Mizner Park's own visitor page answers the parking question in three words: "Parking is free." That covers garages A, B, C and D. Valet runs from three stands, one beside the main fountain, one at IPIC Theater and one at Eddie V's.

The city's meters work differently. The current fee schedule lists the Mizner Park parallel and surface spaces at $4 an hour. Downtown city meters run $4 east of Federal Highway and $2 west of it, and special-event metered parking can switch to a flat rate up to $25. The schedule's approval history shows resolutions adopted in September 2025, October 2025 and September 2026, but it doesn't say which parking lines changed. Treat the figures above as the rates in effect now, not as a record of recent increases.

On a Tree Lighting night, then, a car in one of the four Mizner garages costs nothing. The same car at a surface space on Plaza Real costs $4 for every hour of a four-hour event. On a night the city switches to event pricing, that space could cost as much as $25.

The Shuttle Most Downtown Trips Can Use

Some residents can skip the garage entirely. BocaConnect is the city's all-electric shared shuttle, booked through the Circuit app, and Mizner Park is on its list of destinations. It runs:

  • Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Sunday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Those hours cover every event window in the table. The Wednesday events end at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., hours before the 11 p.m. weeknight cutoff, and the Saturday Tree Lighting ends at 10 p.m. with service running until 2 a.m.

The fare depends on the zone you start and end in. The city's February 2025 expansion notice says a ride that starts and ends in the red zone is free. A trip with either end in the blue zone costs $2 for the first rider plus $1 for each additional rider, capped at $5 per one-way ride. The same notice describes the base service area as south of Glades Road and east of I-95, north of the Hillsboro Canal, and west of NE 5th Way, SE 5th Avenue and Royal Palm Way. It also covers the barrier island between Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and the Boca Raton Inlet. The current Circuit page gives only a general $0 to $5 fare range, so the app's quote at booking is the number to go by.

For the Night Market, the city states it plainly. Attendees "can take advantage of free rides to and from the Night Market with BocaConnect," booked through the Circuit app. The city hasn't published a dedicated shuttle plan for Red, White & Boca or the Tree Lighting. For those nights, the regular hours and zone fares are what apply.

There's one change since summer. A pilot announced in July extended BocaConnect's beach service south of the inlet through September 30, 2026, as the Boca Raton Tribune reported. That extension has ended, so a pickup that worked in August may not work in November.

Two Wednesday Nights, Two Different Plans

The two Wednesday events need different plans. One is a short early-evening event at the amphitheater. The other closes Federal Highway.

Red, White & Boca, November 11. The city's Veterans Day celebration runs 4 to 7 p.m. at Mizner Park Amphitheater. No registration is required. The published schedule opens at 4:00 with a Veterans Marketplace of local service organizations and veteran-owned small businesses, plus the classic car show on the east lawn and the food vendors. The Presentation of Colors and National Anthem follow at 4:45, The Coastman Chorus performs at 5:10, Belladiva at 5:45, and the car show awards come at 6:45, with categories that include Best of Show and Best Veteran-Owned, before the event wraps at 7. A 4 p.m. weekday start falls before most people are off work, so arriving at 4:45 for the colors still leaves time for the music and the awards.

Holiday Street Parade, December 2. The 54th annual parade runs 7:30 to 9 p.m. along Federal Highway with the theme "Boca by the Beach." The road closes much earlier and opens much later than the parade itself. The city's event page lists the order of the night:

  1. Federal Highway closes from Camino Real to Glades Road at about 5 p.m.
  2. Spectators park free at four city sites west of Federal: City Hall at 201 W. Palmetto Park Road, Building Administration at 200 NW 2nd Avenue, the City Parking Lot at 300 NW 2nd Avenue, and the Downtown Boca Library at 400 NW 2nd Avenue.
  3. The parade steps off at 7:30 p.m. and ends around 9.
  4. Federal Highway reopens at about 11 p.m.

All four free lots sit along or just off NW 2nd Avenue, a short walk west of the route. So on parade night the free option is a city lot, not a garage near the amphitheater. For anyone who lives east of the closed stretch, the closure also cuts the usual north-south route home until about 11.

The Bookends at Mizner Park

The rest of the season stays at the amphitheater, where the free garages are close by.

The Holiday Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 21 runs 6 to 10 p.m. with live music, food vendors and photo opportunities, and it's free for all ages. It's the longest event of the season and falls on a Saturday, when BocaConnect runs until 2 a.m.

The third annual Holiday POPS Concert on December 5 is the ticketed exception. The Symphonia Boca Raton, led by conductor John Devlin, performs with the FAU Chamber Singers and Schola Cantorum of Florida. Tickets run $25 to $60, and a new POPS Pop-Up before doors adds Santa visits and face painting for kids at no extra cost with admission. Merry in Mizner fills in other December dates with free performances and photo opportunities around the park.

The Night Market ends the season back at Sanborn Square on December 10, with its usual vendors selling baked goods and sweets, local artists and makers, and music through the evening. Mayor Andy Thomson called the December market the one the city is especially looking forward to.

Dinner Before or After

One restaurant opening near the amphitheater is worth watching. Fletchers, a restaurant, lounge and private club planned for 133 SE Mizner Boulevard, still lists "Opening Fall 2026" on its website, without a specific day.

West of I-95 and outside the shuttle area, Boca Brasserie took over the former Stage Kitchen & Bar space and opened August 20, according to the Palm Beach Post. The restaurant lists its address as 5377 Town Center Road, Suite 200. Farther out on Glades Road, the French-inspired café Maman announced an October 6 opening at Shadowood Square, 9959 Glades Road. A quick call before you drive over is worth it while the café is still in its opening week.
