Summer in Delray Beach used to be the pause between seasons. The snowbirds flew north, restaurants trimmed hours, and Atlantic Avenue got quieter than any five-block stretch of dining in Palm Beach County had a right to be. That version of summer is over. Between the Downtown Development Authority's deliberate summer programming and the tenants now filling Sundy Village, the June through August calendar has become the most engineered stretch of the year.
