The Triangle of Success

This month on my blog, we’re going to take a slight detour from our regularly scheduled real estate topic and talk about success. Success comes in all shapes and sizes and is measured differently for everyone; however, obtaining success seems to have some universal themes. Today, I want to talk about the “Triangle to Success.” It’s called the “Triangle to Success” because this ideology has three main points: Internal conversation, the will and Know-how, and external conversation.

 

 

The internal conversation is the baseline of success. This is the mental conversation you have with yourself, the voice in the back of your mind saying, “I can do this,” or “I can’t do this.” If you cannot speak positively to yourself, how can you expect to speak positively to others? The conversations you have in your head will greatly affect the outcome of whatever you are doing.

 

Telling yourself you can do something is great and necessary, but if you’re trying to convince yourself you can do brain surgery when you went to school for underwater basket weaving… well no amount of internal conversation can help you. That is the Know-how. The Know-how is the training and studying for you to be able to do a task. The Will is your willingness to do it. Without the will to do something, the know-how is useless, and vice versa.

 

The external conversation is the internal conversation you share with others. When you have a positive internal conversation, the external conversation will flow and come easily and apparent to others. On the flip side, when you have a negative internal conversation and try to maintain a positive external conversation, it also shows. Once you believe you can succeed, you must be able to express that to others.

 

When you tell yourself you can do something and you have the ability and will to do something, you will be able to share that with others and you will be Successful!
